Pennsylvania Eye and Ear Surgery Center (PEESC) is owned by both Eye Consultants of Pennsylvania and Berks ENT Surgical Associates. The Center performs both ophthalmology and otolaryngology procedures.   • We are closed on weekends and all major Holidays.

Receptionist

Reports To

Position Summary
To coordinate all aspects of scheduling surgical procedures and to assist in the daily administrative operation of the center. Coordinates the reception/admitting activities in the front office and promotes communication throughout the facility. Maintains the facility medical records according to established guidelines and requirements. Requires a high school diploma or GED and experience working in a fast-paced environment. The candidate must be computer literate with an affinity for and proficiency working with office-based applications. Helpful to have medical experience but not necessary. We are looking for the right combination of technical competency and customer service skills.

Instrument Technician

Reports To
Clinical Director

Position Summary
Assists the OR staff in the organization and daily function of the operating room. Responsible for instrument decontamination, sterile processing, and instrument care and handling and documentation and record keeping related to those activities. Serves as support personnel assisting with other operating room, clinical and administrative tasks and projects. Requires a high school diploma or GED, central sterile or operating room experience and the ability to function in a fast-paced environment. The candidate must have a working knowledge and experience of a central sterile department, operating room, and/or ambulatory surgery center as well as a knowledge of instrument names and their care and handling procedures. Must understand and be proficient in the sterilization and disinfection process.

  • If not certified, must pass certification within 18 months of employment & must maintain certification.

Pre-operative/PACU Registered Nurse

Reports To
Clinical Director

Position Summary
Assists the Pre-operative/PACU Lead Nurse in the daily clinical operations of the Pre- operative/PACU area. Participates in direct patient care including maintaining a clean, orderly and safe environment. The candidate must have a current Pennsylvania RN license. BCLS is required; ACLS/PALS recommended. Two (2) years clinical experience in Pre-op, PACU, Surgical services, Emergency room, or comparable clinical experience preferred. Willing to train. Prefer candidates with IV skills.

Surgical Technician

Reports To
Clinical Director

Position Summary
Assists in the organization and daily function of the operating room. Assists the nurses and physicians in delivering the highest standard of patient care. The candidate must have a a high school diploma or GED, operating room experience and CPR certification. Must have certification as a Surgical Technician or proof of equivalent training. Requires experience in a hospital operating room or ambulatory surgery center environment. Must have the ability to anticipate the needs of the physician in terms of equipment, instrumentation and supplies for all procedures. Ability to scrub all types of ENT and Ophthalmological cases preferred.

Perioperative Registered Nurse

Reports To
Clinical Director

Position Summary
Key member of the OR team supporting the surgeon and assisting in the organization and daily function of the operating room. Assists in oversight of patient care activities in the operating room and maintains a high standard of safety for the patient and other staff members. Current Pennsylvania RN license and BCLS required. ACLS and PALS are recommended. Prefer at least one-year clinical experience in a circulating/scrub position, or comparable clinical experience. Ophthalmology and ENT experience preferred but not required. Willing to train. IV skills preferred. Will consider an RN with surgical experience in Labor and Delivery. Must have a working knowledge and experience in hospital or ambulatory surgical center operating room. Prefer the ability to circulate and scrub all types of cases.
